Bathinda: Cheating case against Pearls Group CMD, three others

The police on Thursday registered a cheating case against chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Pearls Group Nirmal Singh Bhangoo and three others on for duping investors.

The police on Thursday registered a cheating case against chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Pearls Group Nirmal Singh Bhangoo and three others on for duping investors.

Bathinda senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swapan Sharma said a case under Sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) had been registered following Punjab and Haryana high court orders.

The other accused have been identified as Sukhdev Singh, managing director, Gurmeet Singh and Subhrata Bhattacharya, both directors of the group. In his statement to the police, complainant Raj Kumar, a resident of Faridkot, complained that he had invested money in Pearls Agrotech Corporation Ltd (PACL), but the company failed to return the money.
