Chief Khalsa Diwan on Sunday condemned the attack on Punjab IPS officer Kahan Singh Pannu during the rescue operations at Gobind Ghat in Uttarakhand.

"It is extremely painful for a Sikh to be humiliated in a gurdwara," Chief Khalsa Diwan president Charanjit Singh Chadha said here, terming the assault unfortunate, shameful, tragic, and against all Sikh ethics. "The accused don't deserve to be called Sikhs," he added.

Chief Khalsa Diwan resident president Nirmal Singh dubbed the attack inhuman, since the officer had gone to Uttarakhand to ensure the safe homecoming of stranded people. Chief Khalsa Diwan appealed to the state government to investigate the matter.

At the meeting, Chief Khalsa Diwan honorary secretary Santokh Singh Sethi, additional secretary Narinder Singh, joint secretary Harminder Singh, lawyer Jaswinder Singh and education director Dharamveer Singh were present.
