The 32-year-old engineer has had his fair share of struggle in getting that first break, but did not give up.

As HT speaks to his family and him too (over phone), the spirit of confidence and never-say-die shines through.

“The 11th Grasim Mr India, 2005, opened all major doors for him in Mumbai. Trying hand in films and modeling is not everyone’s cup of tea as it involves lot of patience, struggle and risk. He has always been always ready to accept challenges and hurdles and it made his path easy,” said his parents KK Shukla and Radha Shukla, both educationists.

The duo added youngsters today rarely wanted to come out of their comfort zones and want to pick up the easiest way out. “In the early 20s, he expressed his desire to shift to Mumbai. We were apprehensive, but he was determined.”

When spoken to on phone in the presence of the parents and the teacher, Shulka said, “In small towns, parents usually do not push you to try hand in Bollywood or modeling. But, in my case my entire family, teachers and friends supported me. If we are ready to take challenges with a smile, no one will discourage us.”

He is an alumnus of Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar and later completed his BTech in electronics and communication engineering from Lala Laj Pat Rai institute of engineering and technology, Moga.

Regarding the film ‘Roar’ all he has to say that it is not a regular Bollywood film, but sends out a message on protecting and preserving wildlife. “I request all educational institutions to show this film to youngsters.”
