Denizens said celebrating all kind of festivals and days was a sign of global unity and brotherhood.

A group of students from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), who are associated with Young Writers Association, opined that such days and festivals bring us together and also keep us connected to history and traditions.

“Every festival, be it of any religion, community or country, must be celebrated with zeal. Moreover, festivals give us the opportunity to spread love and peace,” said Swaranjeet Singh, a student and member of the association.

Meanwhile, Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE), where students from more than 30 countries are enrolled from various nooks of the world, will be celebrating the day on a special note. A public relation officer from the institution said students from various countries will share a common platform for Christmas Eve dinner on December 24, followed by celebrations on December 25.

Malls have also evinced great creativity through decorations where young and old can be seen taking pictures along with Christmas tress put up at various nooks. “Like big cities such as Delhi and Mumbai, it is very encouraging to see malls showing the festive spirits on different festivals,” said Jatinderbir Singh, a school teacher.
