The city police sitting on the application of father of four-year-old Aarush Arora for last four months due to intense political pressure, have been asked to take prompt action.
Director bureau of investigation and additional director general of police (ADGP) crime VK Bhawra has asked the city police to take prompt action against the incident in which Aarush Arora (4), an LKG student of Innocent Hearts School, was crushed to death by his school bus on August 2, 2014.
The family members of the victim, including his father Chandan Arora, had met the ADGP on December 8 and accused the city police of failing to initiate concrete action against the school management. The police have only arrested the driver and the conductor in this case so far.
Meanwhile, the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken the notice of this case and summoned the school management into its office on December 16.
The victim's father, Chandan Arora, who has been running from pillar to post to get justice, has alleged that the cops are soft-pedaling the issue and have not registered an FIR against the school management so far.
Arora said, "I have got tired of visiting the offices of the police commissioner and other senior police officials with request of action against the school management, but nobody has paid any heed."
He told that only one thing has moved since his son died. "It's only the application, which has moved from the office of police commissioner to ACP (central) and then to ACP (Model Town), but officials have failed to initiate any proceeding against the school," he alleged.

{{/usCountry}}Speaking to Hindustan Times, Bhawra said, "I have talked with DCP Naveen Singla to take prompt action into this case after the victim's father met me."
When contacted, Sukesh Kalia, chairman of Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights said, "I have called Aarush's father and school management on December 16 after receiving complaint."
"After hearing them, the commission will pass further orders to police and others," he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that on July 26, the commissionerate police had issued orders under section 144 of the criminal procedure code that school buses without valid permit and driving licence would be prohibited from plying on the road and action would be taken against the violators.
Despite this, the Innocent Hearts School bus was running without permit and the driver did not have licence at the time of the accident.
