Customers from European countries have given their ascent for buying these aluminum parts that are used in high-end bikes.

Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma, president of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturer Association (UCPMA), on Friday said they would set up the plant within a month.

The plant has been partially imported from Taiwan and some of its parts have been procured from within the country. “We have received the plant and it would take at least a month for setting it up for manufacturing,” said Vishivkarma.

The unique plant would have robotic arms to manufacture cycle parts completely on assembly lines.

It would be able to produce cycle parts, including fancy livers, handles, peddle, side stands among others. The only manual work in the plant would be setting up the dye cast that would manufacture the products of different shapes.

“European countries have shown their interest in buying these aluminum parts from Ludhiana. Germany is one of the nations that manufactures high-end bicycles for the European market and it has asked us to provide these parts,” Vishivkarma said, adding that, “These parts would have international-level finishing that would compliment European markets.”

Aluminum parts plant in Ludhiana would attract players from international market and would also give a much needed boost to the cycle industry that has been witnessing a slump in business.
