Civic body yet to fix responsibility in electrocution case

More than 24 hours after a promising Kabaddi player was electrocuted due to the alleged negligence on the part of Municipal Corporation Bathinda (MCB) officials, the civic body is yet to fix the responsibility.

More than 24 hours after a promising Kabaddi player was electrocuted due to the alleged negligence on the part of Municipal Corporation Bathinda (MCB) officials, the civic body is yet to fix the responsibility.

As a result, the police are yet to book by name the civic body officials whose negligence resulted in the death of Talwinder Singh, 18.

Incharge of police post at mini-secretariat, Parbat Singh, said that the police have written to the MCB to fix responsibility so that police could mention the names of accused in the First Information Report (FIR). Police have already registered an FIR in this case for causing death due to negligence against the MCB.

MCB commissioner Vipul Ujwal said the sub-divisional officer and junior engineer concerned have submitted their reports, which would be finalised on Monday as he was out of station. He said that corporation was already trying to find out the technical factors leading to the mishap.
