Clerk booked for taking bribe

The Patiala wing of the vigilance bureau has arrested Satpal Singh, a clerk of the Sunam municipal committee, red-handed while accepting bribe worth `10,000. As per information, the vigilance team from Patiala led by DSP KD Sharma arrested the clerk and also raided his house.

The complaint was filed by Pritam Pal of Sunam who alleged that Satpal was demanding `35,000 as bribe for approval of a map of a construction in Sunam. Pritam Pal agreed to pay `10,000 and filed a complaint with the bureau. The team arrested him in the presence of Vijay Singh and Kulwinder Singh, junior engineers of the water supply department.
