“When you love your work, you never turn old. I may soon be turning into eighties but love and high adulation from my fans encourages me to go on. In fact, it keeps my spirits at its zenith”, expressed veteran and legendary actor Dharmendra who arrived in the city to throw light on his upcoming Punjabi film ‘Double Di Trouble’ scheduled to be released on August 29.
At a city restaurant, accompanied by his co stars comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi and singer turned actor Gippy Grewal, he opened his words by saying that his excitement knows no bounds whenever he in Ludhiana as it is located very close to his home town Sahnewal where he spent his childhood. “It has been about 55 years since I am in Mumbai but my bond with my hometown, my roots, and my mother tongue is still strong. I regularly share the golden memories of those days with my family. Most importantly, I feel one may reach any at height but should never forget his or her roots as roots give us the real strength”, said the 78 year old actor on a nostalgic note.
Regarding love for his work he maintained that acting has been voraciously loved by him ever since his first audition and he daily salutes the camera which gives him the platform to entertain million of his fans. “For all the youngsters, I have a suggestion. Choose careers as per your interest and passion. If we are passionate about our work, life becomes very interesting. And remember, it does not matter where you come from, all that matters is your will and audaciousness to achieve something”, stated he.

{{/usCountry}}In the film, which is inspired from Shakespeare’s comedy play ‘The comedy of errors’ and is packed with some spices, he will play a double role for which he holds great fervour. He shared that as he was offered a role in a Punjabi film, he could not say no. “While my roots are from Punjab, how could I have said no to a Punjabi film? My sons Sunny and Bobby are also getting inspired to do Punjabi films and I hope many more Bollywood actors will also join them and take Punjabi cinema to new heights.”
Meanwhile, Ghuggi and Grewal opined that working with Dharmendra was an enriching experience which they will never forget in their lives. They said they picked many values for work and life from the actor and eulogized his humble and kind attitude.
Interestingly, as he left the venue hundreds of his fans who got know about his presence gathered around his car to catch his glimpse.
