Con woman arrested for looting passengers in buses

The Khanna police claimed to have arrested a con woman who used to loot passengers in buses by offering them cold drinks and eatables laced with sedatives.

The Khanna police claimed to have arrested a con woman who used to loot passengers in buses by offering them cold drinks and eatables laced with sedatives. The accused was arrested on Tuesday after she had conned a Khanna woman in a bus a week ago.

The accused has been identified as Kulwant Kaur alias Babli of Mohalla Baganwala of Shahkot and police have also recovered jewellery, mobile phones and other belongings of her possession. The woman was prowling in Khanna when police had arrested her.

Harcharan Singh Bhullar, senior superintendent of police (SSP), Khanna, said Kuldeep Kaur, a resident of Krishna Nagar in Khanna, had filed a complaint with police on May 17 in which she had stated that a woman, travelling in the same bus she had boarded in for Khanna from Hoshiarpur around a week ago, had looted her by offering a cold-drink laced with sedatives.

Kuldeep Kaur had also told police that she had gathered her conscious after three days of the incident and found that the con woman had looted her mobile phone, gold bangles, gold chain and two gold rings.

Police also said that they were trying to unearth important information about the similar rackets or thieves active in the area.
