‘Cong fears big guns'

Claiming that the Congress was reluctant to face Bharatiya Janata Party heavyweight Arun Jaitley in the Lok Sabha election bout here, state cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia said on Wednesday that the rival couldn’t decide whom to field against big guns such as Jaitley and Narendra Modi.

“Many Congress leaders are reluctant to contest,” said Majithia, adding: “This is just out of fear of battling the Modi wave in the country. Even Punjab Congress president Partap Bajwa was firstly running away before the party announced his name from Gurdaspur.”
