He said that the Dalits were facing ignominy at the hands of so-called upper caste villagers in Haryana, adding that atrocities on the weaker sections were increasing by the day in Haryana.

Chhina urged the Haryana government to create a cordial atmosphere for peaceful co-existence of all sections of society in the state.

He also demanded that the National Commission for Human Rights and National Commission of Scheduled Castes and Tribes should step in and ensure that the accused in the Kaithal gang rape case were punished as per the law of the land.

The Congress leader said that the accused in such heinous crimes should be socially boycotted by one and all, so that no other person dared to indulge in such activities in future.
