He said: "The party is finalising a national alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). If it materialises, we will make a clean sweep at the Lok Sabha polls in Punjab and also gain nationally."

"We have not ruled out the option of a Lok Sabha party ticket for sitting MLAs. However, those with acceptability and winning prospects would be fielded," he added. He alleged that the state's residents were fed up with the SAD-BJP government as it a corrupt regime.

He added that the party supported the agitation by Education Guarantee Scheme teachers at Bathinda and the local party rank and file would extend complete moral and material support to the striking teachers. "The Youth Akali Dal has become a den of criminals. The recent case of killing of 17-year-old boy in Khanna by Yadavinder Singh Yadu, district rural president of Youth Akali Dal Ludhiana, is a testimony to the political support extended to criminals," he alleged, while demanding the immediate arrest of Yadu and his accomplices.

Traffic chaos result of rally
Local residents and commuters were harassed due to the Congress rally as traffic came to a standstill on the Ferozepur-Moga and Ferozepur-Zira road for more than three hours.
