Sharpening the attack on UPA presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday alleged that the Congress wanted all "ineligible and tainted persons" on top constitutional posts in the country.
"Mukherjee is facing serious charges of corruption and he figures in the list of 15 corrupt Union cabinet ministers prepared by Team Anna against whom we have demanded investigations. Still, the ruler of the Congress want all such tainted and ineligible leaders on top posts as they will find it easy to control them to maintain their supremacy over the party and the country," Kejriwal remarked.
He along with other Team Anna members Kumar Biswas, Sanjay Singh and Kulwant Rai had arrived in Patiala on Thursday to address a gathering of India Against Corruption members, exhorting them to participate in the indefinite fast scheduled at Jantar Mantar in Delhi from July 25.
"Look at our democratic system now. After Mukherjee wins, our President, Prime Minister and 14 Union cabinet ministers will be tainted along with 165 MPs already facing charges of corruption. It means from top to bottom, this government will be corrupt," pointed out Kejriwal.
Alleging that desperate to ensure Mukherjee's win, the Congress was striking "deals" with different parties, Kejriwal charged the Congress with making a mockery of the presidential elections.

{{/usCountry}}"We want the trial of Mukherjee by the judiciary regarding the charges against him," said Kumar Biswas.
Terming the SAD-BJP combine regime in Punjab as mired in cases of corruption, Team Anna also took dig at Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal for declaring his party's support to the anti-corruption campaign led by Anna Hazare.
"The SAD-BJP government in Punjab is no different. Corruption flourishes in the state during their rule. Few ministers of the government were mired in corruption and faced serious allegations," said Kejriwal.
He advised the Punjab CM to take the lead in the country and come up with a strong Lok Pal if he was serious in tackling the issue of corruption.
"The statements made by the CM on our campaign is not support but cheating," claimed Kejriwal, advising Badal not to make attempts to derive political mileage out of Team Anna's campaign.
