Lashing out at Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) general secretary Harminder Singh Gill said that the state government had failed to take any action against Majithia, even as he was named in major drug scam. He added that the protests would be scaled-up soon.

Some of the protesters alleged that at least two cabinet ministers of the ruling SAD-BJP alliance had been named in the case of drug smuggling, yet the CM was reluctant to hand over the case to the CBI, which was inexplicable.

SAD MLA caught in jam

Ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA from Moga Joginder Pal Jain faced an awkward situation during the protest by the Congress leaders.
Jain’s car was stuck in the protesting crowd on the Moga-Ferozepur national highway.

A cornered Jain read through the paper and in the meanwhile, protesters cleared the way for his vehicle.
