Congress workers on Wednesday gheraoed mayor Arun Sood’s car at the entrance of the municipal corporation building in Sector 17 when he reached there for a meeting.

The workers were protesting against mayor’s decision of converting a green belt in Sector 38 into parking lot for Vivek High School. The protesters were holding placards asking the mayor to quit.

Former Congress mayor Poonam Sharma sat on the bonnet of the car while the protest continued for about half an hour.

Finally, Sood came out of the car with the help of heavy police force.
