However, PSPCL officials claimed that they had gone to cut the power connection of Swaran House, a guesthouse owned by Narula, on the instructions of the pollution board.

High drama was witnessed at Ajit Nagar when PSPCL officials led by executive engineer Paramjit Singh went to disconnect the power of the guesthouse. When Congressmen led by Dimpa staged a protest, PSPCL employees left the place without completing the exercise. They even left behind the ladder they had brought.

Alleging vendetta by the ruling combine, Dimpa said, "During the recent elections, Narula had left the SAD and supported the Congress. The action was motivated by political vendetta. PSPCL officials had no written instructions to show to justify the move. We will not tolerate this. We will stage a dharna at the pollution board office on Friday."
