Police are not leaving any stone unturned this Valentines Day to protect the couples who could become the target of any kind of anti-social elements.
The police would deploy several policemen at areas including restaurants, kiosks, gift shops among other areas where lovebirds could become an easy target in case of protests by the moral police.
The police would also be deploy PCR bikes and cars at the areas where celebrations of the big day could be disrupted.
“We have deployed several personnel keeping in mind the threats and risks on the day. However there are no specific threats from any organisations, but we are keeping all necessary arrangements so that the occasion pass peacefully” said a top police official.
The official said without being quoted that the police would also keep an eye on troublemakers who could make it difficult for the womenfolk to move around with ease. “There are other aspects on the Valentines Day that not only include misbehaviour with the couples who celebrate the day but also for those women and girls who have to come out of their homes for important works,” said the official.
Although there were no threats from the right wing groups to disrupt the Valentines Day, but the problem arises from those notorious elements who act as spoilsport by using unconstitutional means including abuse and obscene gestures towards women.

{{/usCountry}}The police would also be looking for those including rash driving. Traffic police would also be deploying their personnel to ease the traffic movement that increases drastically at some of the key areas including Sarabha Nagar, Model Town among other areas.
Manvinder Singh, a student of Punjab Agriculture University, said that he would celebrate Valentines Day with his friends at a restaurants and hopes that there was no untoward incident on the day. “Police should ensure that there was no untoward incident on the day which is marked with love” said Singh.
