Cycle rally held to mark martyr’s birth anniversary

A cycle rally was flagged off at Mohan Lal Bhaskar Chowk on Monday morning to mark the 108th birth anniversary of martyr Bhagat Singh. The rally concluded at Hussianiwala Memorial.

Tributes were paid at the martyr’s bust at Mohan Lal Bhaskar Chowk. Senior police officials along with more than 150 cyclists from all walks of life cycled 10.7 km stretch amid slogans hailing the legendary martyr.

Border Security Force (BSF) personnel gave a warm welcome to the rally at Hussainiwala. People paid tributes at the smadhis of martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev and BK Dutt. While addressing the gathering, a police official laid stress on the need of use of cycling in day-to-day life to stay fit and reduce traffic chaos on the roads.

“We will carry on the campaign to promote cycling,” assured Harish Monga, a cyclist.
