In no mood to give laxity to the Raikot block development and panchayat officer (BDPO) and Ludhiana soil conservation officer, the DC ordered to block their salaries for April. The BDPO and soil conservation officer were absent from the meeting and did not even give a reason for the same.

The second in the firing line was the XEN canal division Ropar who was absent from the meeting and had sent his junior engineer (JE) instead. Unable to hold back his annoyance, the DC called him up from the meeting and conveyed in clear words that he would be suspended if he fails to submit the report by Thursday.

The XEN has to submit the report pertaining to the status of cleaning of canals of his division falling in Ludhiana district. He also asked the officials to remain in their respective offices from 11 am to 1 pm so as to attend to the public.
