According to commuters, many accidents have been caused on foggy days when animals on the road are not visible well in advance.

In the lack of cattle shelters, the safety of these animals is also a matter of concern. Many times, after being hit by vehicles, these strays remain on the road with the civic authorities not taking appropriate steps.

While the administration has made plenty of claims about making arrangements, the increasing stray animals seen on the roads prove otherwise.

Another problem arising out of this is animal waste left on the roads. With authorities not cleaning the roads regularly, dung is a common sight.

Sohan Singh, an employee at a private firm here, said, "Dogs and cows can be commonly seen on the roads while travelling to and from work. Authorities concerned should take necessary steps as they become visible only at the last moment, posing a serious threat to commuters."
