Former union law minister Ashwani Kumar today said that he had not committed any error by going through the CBI inquiry report on allotment of coal mines before it was submitted in the Supreme Court.
The minister while addressing a press conference at his residence here said that being a law minister it was his prerogative to give advice on legal matters to every department including the CBI.
He said he had resigned from the cabinet in respect to the decision of the party leadership and added till day the Supreme Court had not made an adverse remark against him.
"There was nothing serious about me leaving the cabinet as in politics you see both ups and downs", said Kumar adding that he would continue working for the betterment of the Congress party at both state and national level.
He claimed that the UPA government was doing well at the Centre and would retain power with stronger majoirity after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections but expressed his unhappiness over party's performance in his native state.
He said that the performance of the Congress party in the Punjab rural polls was not upto the mark so his priority would be to bring in complete unity in the party.

{{/usCountry}}The former union minister condemned the BJP for allegedly playing negative politics on various issues in the Parliament and criticised them for not letting the Parliament function smoothly.
When questioned about the ongoing spot-fixing scandal, he said the incident like this was very unfortunate and would shake youth's faith in the sport.
