Different unemployed workers' unions form panel to take up demands with govt

Different unions of unemployed workers came under one banner to fight for their rights with the state government. A meeting in this regard was held at Chatar Singh Park on Sunday evening.

Different unions of unemployed workers came under one banner to fight for their rights with the state government. A meeting in this regard was held at Chatar Singh Park on Sunday evening.

Pirmal Singh from Berojgar Linemen Union, Raghveer Singh Bhawanigarh from ETT-pass Unemployed Teacher Union, Man Singh from AI Workers Union, Jagroop Singh from Guru hargobind Thermal Pant (GHTP) Contract Worker Union, Sandeep Kaur from National Rural Health Mission Staff Nurses Union, Ashwani Kumar from GNDTP Contract Worker Union, Jasveer Singh from AIDSU Contract Workers Union, Lakhwinder Singh from TET-pass Union and Rupinder Singh Rogla from PRTC Contract Workers Union participated in the meeting and formed a core committee.

It was decided that this core committee under the name of “Lak Lehar-Punjab for second freedom” will work collectively. The demands of the committee included filling up the vacant posts in various departments, to regularise the employees providing services from long, and to increase the pay scale of the contractual staff.
