Call centres set up by Discom to register complaints related to power supply are getting popular among public since it started its operation in October 2014.

A spokesman of Haryana Power Distribution Utilities said here on Thursday that the utilities have provided toll-free number '18001804334' in the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and 18001801550 for Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam for lodging complaints.

The call centres have been set up to ensure timely redressal of complaints, as per standards laid by the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission.

"At present, the call centre receives average 1200 calls a day against 300 calls in October 2014. Though there has been no increase in interruptions in power supply," he added.

In case the concerned staff fails to attend the complaint with in a prescribed time, the complaint is automatically escalated to the higher officials. The redressals of complaints, lodged through call centre, are closely monitored by the senior officers and management.

The call centre has been given instructions to entertain all type of complaints relating to the DISCOM.
