Discoms make almost 90k calls to satisfy customers

Making earnest efforts to raise the level of consumer satisfaction Haryana power distribution companies -- Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam -- made 88,032 telephonic calls over the month of January to their consumers in order to satisfy requests for information regarding power supply service and status of their complaints.

Making earnest efforts to raise the level of consumer satisfaction Haryana power distribution companies -- Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam -- made 88,032 telephonic calls over the month of January to their consumers in order to satisfy requests for information regarding power supply service and status of their complaints.

A spokesman for the utilities said on Monday that the discoms made these telephonic calls in response to 38,296 requests at their call centre through toll free telephone number 18001804334, in the area of the DHBVN, and 18001801550, in the area of the UHBVN.

He said that out of 88,000 calls made by the utilities, 82,000 consumers responded and they were given information on their queries or complaints.

The spokesman said that out of the calls received from the consumers 15,158 were complaints of no power supply, 5,348 pertained to areas under planned shut down or breakdown and 13,463 calls were for general enquiries.

The toll free telephone numbers, provided for electricity complaints in Haryana, are getting popular among public.
