"I have not even signed a single paper after my suspension. On July 16, when I was placed under suspension I had cleared many files during the daytime in office and in evening at my camp office as routine," he said.

"The evening files remained there till July 20 evening as on the morning of July 17 I had gone to Chandigarh for a meeting and due to suspension I remained in Chandigarh till July 18. On the other hand, on July 19 and 20, I was busy in inquiry at Ludhiana and Patiala," he added.

Some organisations had levelled allegations against Jaggi that he had signed bills amounting crores of various companies on backdate.

Jaggi claimed that it was only on July 20 that he came back to the city and handed over many files lying in the camp office to the person concerned, "which were actually cleared on July 16".
