The court of additional district and sessions judge Harveen Bhardwaj acquitted the husband of a deceased woman and his parents in a dowry death case on Friday.
Kunal Aggarwal, his father Anil Aggarwal and mother Shashi Aggarwal were booked following the death of Kunal's wife Swati on November 29, 2013.
Swati, 29, had allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the washroom of her bedroom on November 29, 2013.
Swati was an engineer and had tied the knot with Kunal on November 28, 2010. The couple had a one-year-old son.
Suman Kumar Gupta, the father of the deceased and a resident of Ludhiana, had submitted his complaint to the police station-6 alleging that his daughter was being harassed by her in-laws for not bringing adequate dowry.
On the complaint filed by the father of the deceased, the police had booked her husband, her father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law under Section 304-b (dowry death) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
At the time of the incident, both Kunal and his mother Shashi Aggarwal were at home.
Gupta, father of the deceased, said that they had tried to resolve their differences several times and were hopeful that everything would be alright over a period of time but all their attempts proved futile.
"My daughter' body bore injuries that seemed to have been caused by manhandling. Blood spots were also found on her ears. It was a plotted murder projected as suicide by her in-laws," Gupta had alleged.

The police had arrested Kunal Aggarwal, Anil Aggarwal and Shashi Aggarwal while Tarun Aggarwal, brother-in-law of the victim, had got bail from Punjab and Haryana High court.
