Drug dealer Kandola escapes

Raja Kandola, an international drug racketeer, reportedly outsmarted the Delhi police personnel and escaped from a train at the Railway Station Ludhiana on Monday. Ranjit Singh alias Raja Kandola, an NRI, was lodged in the Tihar jail, New Delhi for drug peddling.

Raja Kandola, an international drug racketeer, reportedly outsmarted the Delhi police personnel and escaped from a train at the Railway Station Ludhiana on Monday.

Ranjit Singh alias Raja Kandola, an NRI, was lodged in the Tihar jail, New Delhi for drug peddling.

He was brought to Garhshankar by the police for a court hearing on Monday. After producing him before the court, the Delhi police personnel had boarded the Jammu Mail train from Jalandhar to New Delhi.

Sources said as the train reached the platform number 1 at the Ludhiana Railway Station, Kandola somehow outwitted the police officials and fled.

Anxious police personnel tried to locate him for some time. Later, they returned to the capital in the same train.

Since the Delhi police personnel did not register any complaint in this context with the railway police Ludhiana, the officials expressed ignorance over the incident.

Kandola was arrested by the Delhi Police, along with one of his aide Sukhjinder Singh, on August 11.

The Jalandhar rural police had arrested 19 persons of his gang including his wife in the case. They had recovered ICE, a party drug, worth Rs 200 crore from their possession.

Raja Kandola is a native of village Haipowal of Banga of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
