EC lists documents for identification on polling day

Haryana chief electoral office has informed that those electors who are not able to produce the electors photo identity card (EPIC) can produce alternative photo identity documents for establishing their identity on the Lok Sabha election day on April 10 in the state.

Haryana chief electoral office has informed that those electors who are not able to produce the electors photo identity card (EPIC) can produce alternative photo identity documents for establishing their identity on the Lok Sabha election day on April 10 in the state.

Whereas overseas electors who were registered in the electoral rolls under Representation of the People Act, 1950, based on the particulars in their passport, would be identified on the basis of their original passport only and no other identity document.
Chief electoral officer Srikant Walgad has said that alternative photo identity documents include passport, driving license, identity cards with photographs issued by central or state government, public sector undertakings or public limited companies, passbooks with photographs issued by bank or post office.

Other authentic documents include PAN card, Aadhar card, smart card issued by registrar general of India under under national population register (NPR), MNREGA job card, health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of ministry of labour, pension document with photograph and authenticated photo voter slip issued by the election machinery.
