Speaking at a meeting with district election officers of Haryana here on Saturday, Alok Shukla, deputy election commissioner of ECI, told the officers to ensure that facilities such as drinking water, ramps for persons with disabilities, and toilets were available at every polling station.

He said that all sensitive polling stations should be under video surveillance. He asked the excise department to check the stock of liquor at all godowns after the announcement of elections.

Shrikant Walgad, chief electoral officer of Haryana, said model polling stations would be set up at every block. "A cycle rally would also be organised by the state election commission on March 1 to create awareness among people," he said. Also, an oath for casting vote would be administered to all women at Aanganwadi Centres on Women's Day, which falls on March 8.

He said a state-level meeting of representatives of various political parties would be organised on February 26 where they would be made familiar with the guidelines of the ECI regarding the code of conduct, paid news and poll expenditure.
