After music contests on the opening day, the Friday competitions were mimicry and one-act play. The stage performances depicted social, political, as and religious paradigms and raised issues of women's insecurity, honour killings, corruption, price rise, and the impact of Chinese imports on economy, besides ragging and rape.
There were also satires on self-proclaimed godmen. The one-minute performances during the fancy-dress contest included creative use of expressions and props that left the audience mesmerised. Partition, best scenes from Mother India, and a woman ploughing fields were most appreciated performances.
Clay-modelling, slogan-writing, still-life painting, live sketching, mimicry, elocution, fine arts and poetic symposium were the other events.
