The State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) has formed a special committee to reexamine the recently-declared results of the Elementary Teachers Training (ETT) examinations (2013-15 and 2014-16) conducted early this year.
The moves comes after students submitted memoranda to the SCERT alleging many students had passed the examination despite not scoring enough marks.
According to documents with HT, students with roll no. 6698 got 44 marks; 6704 got 44; 6706 got 43; and roll no. 6716 scored only 45 marks out of 100 in different subjects — but they passed the examinations.
The mandatory score to pass is 50 marks. On the other hand, students who had secured 47 to 49 marks were declared failed.
As per the State Council of Education Research and Training guidelines, a maximum of three grace marks can be given to students who failed in one subject by just a few marks.
The students had also claimed that many questions in the test were out of syllabus and had demanded 30 grace marks for each student.

{{/usCountry}}“If they fail to give grace marks to students, we will move high court,” he added. SCERT Director Sukhdev Singh Kahlon admitted to the mistake in the results. “It was a clerical mistake that could happen due to overburden,” he said.
