Engineering student shoots himself

A 22-year-old youth of Mujara village of Sahnewal shot himself to death with a licensed rifle of his father on Saturday night. The deceased identified as Harjinder Singh was a civil engineering student.

According to Harjinder's family, he was mentally disturbed from the past few days. On Saturday, he locked himself in the room and shot himself with the rifle. On hearing the gunshot, the family members rushed to the room and were shocked to see the lifeless body of Harjinder lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

Inspector Anil Bhanot, station house officer of the Sahnewal police station, said they had sent the body to civil hospital for post-mortem examination and were investigating in the case.
