"The plight of the common man can be imagined when the police are not safe as Akali goons have created a 'jungle raj' in the state," she said while addressing a workers' rally organised by former MLA Madan Lal Jalalpur at Ghanaur.

She distributed cheques for Rs 40 lakh from her MPLAD grant.

She said that following the murder of an ASI, minor girl's abduction case and beating of government officials by Akalis, everyone was living in under fear. "Parents are under stress as girls are not safe in Punjab. Police have become a mute spectator to lawlessness. Public is fed-up with the SAD-BJP misrule and will teach the ruling alliance a lesson in the Lok Sabha elections," she said.

He also alleged that local Akali leaders were minting crores of rupees by indulging in illegal mining in the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal and district administration was overlooking the violations.
