A man allegedly thrashed his brother and his wife, and stabbed their eight-year-old son to death with a pair of scissors in front of them, at his garment factory in Azad Nagar, Ludhiana, on Tuesday night over a monetary dispute.
The accused, Jamal, has fled with his family, police said. The police of Basti Jodhewal area initiated investigations after reaching at the spot, and registered a murder case.
The murder took place after Hussain, who said he had lent Rs 2 lakh to his brother Jamal, went with his wife (not identified) and son Shehnaz to Jamal’s factory, Noor Garments, on Tuesday night to ask for repayment.
A verbal spat escalated, and Jamal attacked them with sticks and also used sharp-edged weapons. When their son started crying, Jamal picked up pair of a scissors and stabbed the child in the throat. The child died on the spot. Jamal then fled the spot, and is now absconding along with his family, police said.
