As per information, 27-yearold Nirmal Singh, a motor mechanic of village Varpal under Makhu police station in Zira, a subdivision of Ferozepur district, along with his wife Gurpreet Kaur, 25, and son Harmanpreet Singh, 5, went missing mysteriously late Saturday evening.

On Sunday, a bike and slippers of Nirmal, a motor mechanic, were found on the side of a Rajasthan feeder canal and, later on, the police traced out a suicide note reportedly written by Nirmal from his shop.

Karam Singh, father of Nirmal, had given 2.5 acres of land each to him and two other sons. But, after the death of his wife, Karam had remarried another woman Kashmir Kaur. A few months ago, Karam Singh filed a case in the court of SDM, Zira, to get back the land from all of his sons. Nirmal, reportedly, went into depression apprehending possible loss of the land.
