Four killed, two injured in SUV-truck collision in Bathinda

Four persons were killed and two were seriously injured when an SUV had a head-on collision with a truck on the Bathinda-Goniana road on Monday afternoon.

Four persons were killed and two were seriously injured when an SUV had a head-on collision with a truck on the Bathinda-Goniana road on Monday afternoon.

The accident took place at 2:15pm when a Tata Safari (PB 29 P 8420) going to Zira in Ferozepur collided with a truck (PB 03 B 2728) coming to Bathinda near Amargarh village.

All the car occupants were nihangs who were returning from Bundi in Rajasthan after attending a religious function.

The deceased have been identified as Sukhdev Singh, Devinder Singh and Jasvir Singh, all residents of Zira, and Gurmit Singh of Dev Nagar in Moga.

The injured have been identified as Pappu Singh and Tehal Singh, who have been admitted to the Bathinda civil hospital.

Investigation officer Baljit Singh said they were investigating the case. A case will be registered at the Nehianwala police station in this connection, he said.
