Scientists of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, participated in the 30th annual conference of Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists.
The national symposium on 'Advances and application of diagnostic pathology for disease management in livestock, poultry, pet, fish, laboratory animal and wildlife' was held in College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Odisha.
They also attended the CL Davis Satellite Seminar on 'Pathology of diseases of poultry, avian wildlife and pet birds', which was held at, University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odhisa, recently.
Pathologists from GADVASU won a rich haul of awards for the second consecutive year, which included prestigious 'Nemi Chand Jain and Jawaharlal Vegad Award for Outstanding Research in Veterinary Pathology' to the team lead by Naresh Kumar Sood and members
Kuldip Gupta, Amarjit Singh and M Raghunath, for their work on canine mammary neoplasia as a model for human breast cancer'.
Kuldip Gupta bagged the best poster awards for the research paper, co-authored by Naresh Kumar Sood, Amarjit Singh and the organising secretary's award to Apminder Pal Singh Brar, co-authored by Naresh Kumar Sood, Kuldip Gupta and Bhupinder Singh Sandhu.
In addition, the best article on pack animals published in Indian Journal of Veterinary Pathology was won by Bhupinder Singh Sandhu co-authored by Naresh Kumar Sood, Kuldip Gupta and Amarjit Singh. These awards were given in recognition on the important research streams involving dairy and pet animals, the work for which was carried out in GADVASU, Ludhiana, with a view to find novel approaches in diagnosis and prognosis of important animal diseases having implications in human health.

prestigious young scientist's award session and presented a lead paper on 'Bovine crpytosporidiosis and its public health
significance'.
Amarjit Singh co-chaired a session on oncology and also presented a lead paper entitled 'Immunohistochemistry: technical aspects and application in animal disease diagnosis”. Director research SNS Randhawa and registrar PD Juyal congratulated the team for their outstanding achievements.
