This was decided at an executive committee meeting of Guru Nanak Dev University Teachers' Association (GNDUTA) on Monday.

In the first leg of the struggle, the executive decided to hold a protest march on the campus from Wednesday to Friday from 10 am to 1 pm.
Faculty members will take out a demonstration across all departments. They will be apprised of the next course of the agitation after March 30.

Referring to the functioning of the V-C, the release said the illegal rejection of teachers for promotion, the illegitimate change in the eligibility dates for promotion, the dictatorial decision to enhance class strength to an unwarranted number of 100, the undue compromises with the annual performance indicator (API) scorecard and denial of basic amenities and facilities like study leave, WiFi facilities and border area allowance to teachers of regional campuses were pointers to the style of functioning of the V-C.

"The man (V-C) with the names of premier institutions of the country in his resume has failed miserably to feel for the interest of his colleagues and academics," said Balwinder.
