Government cancels permission to operate stone crushers

The Punjab government has cancelled the permission granted on June 27 for operating stone crushers. Rupnagar deputy commissioner Pardeep Aggarwal said no stone crusher or screening plant would operate in any district following the government's orders, adding that strict action would be taken against stone crusher and screening plant owners who would violate the orders.

Rupnagar deputy commissioner Pardeep Aggarwal said no stone crusher or screening plant would operate in any district following the government's orders, adding that strict action would be taken against stone crusher and screening plant owners who would violate the orders.

He said the Punjab Pollution Control Board environmental engineer, district mining officer and the senior superintendent of police (SSP), Rupnagar, would be responsible for ensuring compliance of the orders in the district.
