The government senior secondary schools in the district are facing acute shortage of lecturers as several posts are lying vacant for the last many years. Due to the shortage of teachers, several schools are offering only humanities stream.
At Government Senior Secondary School, Kadiana Kalan, all the four sanctioned posts of lecturers are lying vacant. The posts for lecturers of English, history, physical education and Punjabi are lying vacant since 2001. So the master cadre teachers are conducting the classes.
Talking to Hindustan Times, school principal Pradeep Kumar said, "All the four posts are lying vacant so I am conducting the classes and master cadre teachers are also teaching the students. If the higher authorities fill the vacant posts, we can improve our results."
The situation is no different at Government Senior Secondary School, Lubangarh, as out of three sanctioned posts, two are lying vacant for the last many years. The posts of Hindi and Punjabi lecturers are lying vacant and master cadre are teaching the students.
Lakhvir Singh, principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Giddervindi, said, "There are five posts of lecturers in our school and all are lying vacant for the last three years. We are offering humanities stream to Class XI students in which English, Punjabi, political science, history and physical education subjects are being offered."

{{/usCountry}}A master cadre teacher, seeking anonymity, said, "There is a need to fill the vacant posts of lecturers in the government schools as the other teachers are overburdened. For three years, all posts of lecturers are lying vacant in our school. Several students of Class 10 want to study non-medical and commerce but due to no lecturer, the school authorities are not starting any new stream."
