The victim lodged a complaint against Hoshiarpur-Delhi Express train guard on Saturday.

Station house officer (SHO) GRP Karnail Singh said that, on the complaint of the victim, the guard Balvinder Singh has been booked on rape charges.

As per the FIR, the incident occurred on the night of May 30. The victim along with her daughter boarded the Hoshiarpur to Delhi Express train at 10.10pm.

“I was feeling uneasy so I stepped out of the train to have a cold drink; but when suddenly the train started moving, a guard grabbed my hand and pulled me into his cabin, assuring me that I can go to my coach at another station,” said the victim in her complaint.

“He started misbehaving with me as the train picked up the speed and later raped me. When I resisted he threatened to throw me out of the train,” she added.

She complained though she approached the station superintendent (SS) and GRP police station at the night of the incident, no one provided her any help.

Police have registered a case against the guard Balvinder Singh under Section 376 (b), (c) (sexual intercourse by a public servant with a woman in his custody by taking advantage of his official position).
