Even after a poor migrant family lost their two kids in a tragic fire incident on Monday in Aman Nagar locality, the harried family had to wait for four hours for postmortem at Shaheed Babu Labh Singh civil hospital on Tuesday.
Moreover, when the family arrived at the Kishanpura cremation ground, the gate was locked and they were stranded for half an hour on the Kishanpura road.
Even on Monday afternoon, when the bodies were taken to mortuary in the civil hospital after the incident, the family was asked to come on Tuesday morning as after 4 pm, postmortem in not being carried out, despite there is provision for postmortem till sunset.
Kids father Ram Chander (30) along with his relatives and friends arrived at the hospital at 9.30 am on Tuesday to receive bodies from mortuary. When they reached outside the mortuary, they were informed that Dr Tarsem, who has to perform an autopsy in Kapurthala, would return at 12.30 pm.
Meanwhile, the family waited for the doctor and cops for three hours at the hospital. Cops from police station-3 also reached late with documents at the hospital. Since Dr Tarsem reached the mortuary around 12.30 after a court case in Kapurthala, the body of Anshu was handed over at 12.45 pm while the family received Aditya’s body at 1.15 pm. Later, family took the bodies to their house in a private vehicle at Aman Nagar from where they moved to the Kishanpura locality. To add more woes to them, the gate of the crematorium was locked and they were again stranded on the main road in Kishanpura till the gate was opened. Moreover, when the family members entered into the cremation ground for children, they had to wait for half an hour again as there was no hoe available to dig ground to bury bodies.

The deceased identified as Aditya (4) and his younger brother Anshu (3) were burnt to death after a fire broke out in a room at Aman Nagar.
