Defending opposition parties’ criticism over slow pace of the development in Haryana under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said he was battling corrupt practices in the state.
At a poorly-attended rally at Dusshera ground here, Khattar said that the state government was committed to inclusive development and the ‘pro-people’ policies would start yielding results in another one year’s time.
Khattar said that the first-year of a government reflected its work culture and the BJP was committed to its poll promise to weed out a system that was supporting and promoting corruption.
On the occasion, he announced to introduce social welfare offices at the block level to give better services to the pension benefecries and redressal of their grievances.
“Haryana Day golden celebrations have started this year and it coincides with completion of one year of the BJP government. Several welfare projects introduced by our government like CM Window scheme, enhancement of old-age pension have started yielding results while the infrastructure development projects take their own time for planning and execution,” he said.
The CM said the BJP leadership in Haryana had received the legacy of a system that was completely off-track due to corrupt political leaderships under the past regimes. “But the BJP government will stick to its commitment to giving a corruption-free regime on which we won the electoral mandate. As we are working to find smooth way of governance and complete transparency, it obviously takes some time.,” he said.

{{/usCountry}}Khattar urged people to “give fair amount of time” to the maiden BJP government to judge its performance on all fronts.
He said that an internal audit exposed old-pension scheme in Karnal district alone and cases of planned corruption in other districts was not ruled out.
Khattar said that the government had zero-tolerance towards corruption public officials, proactive role of the society was needed to say goodbye to corruption.
