The CM, who was in his home constituency to attend public functions, released copies of the notification during the Gopashtami celebrations at Shri Krishna Gaushala here.

Last week, president Pranab Mukherjee had given his assent to the bill.

Khattar told reporters it was the first bill passed by the present BJP government in Haryana. He said the ‘Gau Seva Aayog’ under the chairmanship of Bhani Ram Mangla would be functional from today.

He also announced grant of Rs 11 lakh to Shri Krishna Gaushala from his discretionary fund.

“The bill was passed unanimously in the assembly, including three Muslim legislators who hail from Mewat. The Muslim community in Mewat and other places has also appreciated the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Bill and assured to provide every possible help in its implementation,” he said.

Inaugurates vegetable market

Later, Khattar inaugurated the new vegetable market at the grain market near here. The CM said the project would not only benefit the vegetable vendors but the shifting of vegetable market would ease traffic congestion in the city.

Khattar also laid the foundation stones of sewerage facilities in the recently approved 23 colonies and drains at different places in Karnal town.
