The delegation from Haryana informed the Akal Takht jathedar that certain elements were supporting Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to divide the SGPC and that efforts were on to form a separate body for managing the affairs of gurdwaras in Haryana.

The SGPC delegation told the jathedar that Didar Singh Nalvi and Jagdish Singh Jhinda, along with some other Sikh leaders, are backing the Hooda government's move to form a separate committee.

After listening to the delegation of SGPC members, Giani Gurbachan Singh said, "It is learnt that certain elements are supporting the Congress-led Haryana government to form a separate committee. This will not be tolerated. Any Sikh leader, who tries to weaken the SGPC or divide it, will have to face action from Akal Takht."
