'Heritage status to boost tourism'

Status of world heritage site for the Great Himalayan National Park in Kullu awarded by UNESCO would open a new door for tourism sector in the district, said forest minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri, while addressing the people at Khalyani and Khalogi in Kullu district.

Status of world heritage site for the Great Himalayan National Park in Kullu awarded by UNESCO would open a new door for tourism sector in the district, said forest minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri, while addressing the people at Khalyani and Khalogi in Kullu district. He was speaking during an inauguration ceremony of a high school at Khalyani and senior secondary school Khalogi on Tuesday.

He said that with the efforts of state government, the GHNP got recognition on global map and the rights of villagers, staying in the vicinity of GHNP and sanctuary area, are being protected.
