A spokesman of the state government said here on Saturday that the award would be presented on Good Governance Day in New Delhi on December 28 by Union minister of communication and information technology Ravi Shankar Prasad.

He added that Sirmaur, Shimla and Una districts would also receive awards for being the best contributing districts of the state.

The Digital India Week was celebrated from July 1 to July 7 and its main objective was to ‘inform, educate and engage’ citizens through certain events at various government offices, common service centres, post offices, blocks, schools and gram panchayats. A number of events were organised across the state during the week and reporting was done through the online system, he added.

He said the inauguration of the Aadhar Permanent Enrolment Centre, the e-Vidhan and Mandi Tourism Mobile Apps and MyDiary Mobile App were also launched during the series of events. He added that a workshop on cyber security was held and a number of awareness counters for citizens were set up through-out the state to inform about the electronic delivery of government and other services. Quiz Competitions on e-Governance and IT were also held in schools and knowledge about e-governance activities was disseminated at Special Gram Sabhas held during the week, he added.
