Hisar farmers call off hunger strike, bandh call for Feb 13

The Haryana Kisan Manch on Wednesday called off its month-old dharna and chain hunger strike after deputy commissioner ML Kaushik and Congress leaders Dharamvir Goyat, Rajinder Sura and Bajrang Dass Garg met the farmers and accepted their demand for supplying irrigation water in all the branches of Balsmand canal for two weeks and withdraw the police cases registered against farmers during their agitation recently.

Anil Bishnoi, secretary of Kisan Manch told newspersons, "A delegation of six members of the Manch would call on the chief minister on Thursday to discuss the remaining demands which included rationalization of power slab system, replacement of electricity digital meters and removal of pillar boxes etc."

Kaushik served juice to the farmers who were sitting on hunger strike.
