Holy city sees three murders in two days

A day after unidentified robbers killed a woman, two more incidents in two different localities — Verka and Mustafabad — have sent a shock wave across the city. In the first incident, a person, identified as Ram Singh (25), a migrant, was found dead in the house he was living.

A day after unidentified robbers killed a woman, two more incidents in two different localities — Verka and Mustafabad — have sent a shock wave across the city.

In the first incident, a person, identified as Ram Singh (25), a migrant, was found dead in the house he was living.
As per police, Ram Singh, who was working as a helper to the owner of the house, was killed brutally with sharp-edged weapons. There were several marks behind his neck and head, said police.

Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP-1) Parampal Singh said, “People living on the same premises informed police after spotting the body. The entire crime scene was closely scanned and a dog squad was also put on the job to find clues.”

Later in the day, police commissioner Jatinder Aulakh, along with deputy commissioner of police Bikram Pal Singh Bhatty, visited the spot.

In the second incident, a 28-year-old labourer, Uma Shankar, a resident of Mustafabad, was found murdered, police claimed to have arrested three persons in this connection.

Divulging details, ADCP City (2) Ketan Patil said, “Soon after being informed, police started looking for clues and it was found that two men, identified as Kaalu and Lovepreet Libra, and a woman were involved in the crime. We have arrested them, while three more accused are still absconding.”

Aulakh, who was on a leave, visited the victim’s house upon his return.
